Rose Dale's Organic Farm
A small, nature-friendly farm with organic, pasture-fed beef and lamb, delicious apple juice and organically-tanned sheepskins.
Who we are
Rose Dale's Organic Farm
We are a small, family farm near Thame, on the border of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We produce organic-certified, pure pasture-fed beef and lamb from our small herd of Longhorn cattle and flock of Gotland sheep.
All our animals are born and raised here on the farm. We do not buy in livestock for fattening, instead raising only our own calves and lambs, which stay with their mothers until weaning before spending their lives grazing outdoors in our lovely meadows.
We open a small farm shop on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12pm, everyone is very welcome. Orders for specific items can also be placed by email or boxes can be purchased online for collection from the farm when convenient.

What we stand for
Nature-friendly farming producing the best Organic, 100% grass-fed beef and lamb.
Animal welfare and farming with nature are at the heart of everything we do. We use adaptive paddock grazing, moving our cattle daily and our sheep every few days so they always have access to fresh pasture, keeping them in the best possible health. Medicines are only used when absolutely necessary and even wormers are kept to a minimum. Instead, we regularly test our animals to check for worms and only treat them if needed. Many of our cattle leave the farm having never needed medicines or wormers. We also have beautiful orchards that are managed without any chemicals. Our fruit is pressed locally to make delicious pure apple and pear juice. Alongside this, we sell organically-tanned sheepskins from our special soft-woolled flock. We farm in a way that protects the soil, preserving and enhancing soil carbon and soil microbiology to support healthy plants, healthy animals and healthy people. Fossil fuel use is kept to a minimum, with hay and silage made only for the winter months.
We never feed grain or concentrates. Our farm is home to beautiful wildflower meadows, lush river pastures and herbal leys, along with a network of thriving hedgerows and areas of native scrub and woodland. This gives our animals a rich and varied diet while creating valuable habitats for wildlife. We continue to plant more trees and hedges every year. There is plenty of space here for wildlife to thrive.
Over time, we have seen owls, kestrels, warblers and swallows return, along with ducks, snipe, herons and many other birds in our Wetlands. Grass snakes, frogs, deer and hares are also regularly seen across the farm. Biodiversity is increasing, the livestock themselves are helping to bring life back to the land.Just 50 miles from London, this is a place where nature can flourish. Public footpaths, school visits and farm walks allow people to connect with farming and the countryside, offering the chance to listen to birdsong, explore a healthy green landscape and enjoy the peace and wellbeing that nature brings.
